I went to A and E in January this year. I had intense pain in my right knee and could not put my foot down at all. I had phoned 111 and waited five hours for an ambulance. All I really needed was something to ease the pain. I waited another 4 hours at A and E. I was in a wheelchair and could not walk. I saw a doctor and was still refused immediate pain relief even though I requested it. I left with Naproxen tablets and told to take these and co-codamol. (I already have these at home) I came home and as I live upstairs I had to bump my self up on my backside and do the same into the living room. The medication was not very effective and I just had to deal with the pain my self. I could not walk for some time. My knee was badly swollen and the back of my leg was black. I feel that some sort of immediate pain relief would have helped. I did not receive it.
