I had an injury just over 2 months ago which caused a sudden, rapid deterioration in a chronic problem.

I went to the Accident and Emergency department at Portree Hospital where I was promptly (within 15 minutes!) seen by the GP on duty. An x-ray was arranged and performed and I received advice and painkillers for my immediate problem, together with a referral to a specialist for my chronic problem.

Throughout my visit I was treated with kindness and courtesy. I was assessed, x-rayed, reviewed and given painkillers within an hour of attending the department - there are very few hospital where you could get such outstanding service.

I have taken up a new post as Head of Public Relations and together with our Board Director of Nursing, we have been reviewing all postings on Patient Opinion.
