I got to 9cm at home but was then treated like a piece of meat on a conveyor belt. I was told off for asking for pain relief during one of the many invasive vaginal examinations. I know they are short of beds and staff but I felt they wanted a rapid vaginal delivery at any expense. I was given an unecessary mid-cavity forceps delivery but none of the rather frightening risks were even mentioned. I now have severe multiple pelvic organ prolapses which will need surgery to fix and mean I can't lift things or do many other normal activities. I also had PTSD from the experience - not a great start to motherhood. We were unable to take legal action. The response to our complaint was incomplete, dismissive and failed to even review the procedures which had so greatly let me down. Avoid!
