"Triage vs MDU"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

Went to triage last night, as an emergency I was round the corner and I simply felt it was safer for me at 32 weeks pregnant as I felt extremely ill.

On arrival I felt I had to argue for myself and baby to be checked and the response I kept getting was your not booked here to have your baby.

Which was concerning as I had signs of a urine/kidney infection which I have had previously.

Monitored me in the and I did have a infection and asked me to come back in the morning to be monitored again.

Attitude I think was pretty bad!

Back this morning at MDU to be checked lovely lovely cannot fault them. It's a shame the night staff at triage are so crapy (apart for one nurse who was going home)

Overall if I think my baby maybe in danger is it unreasonable to go to the closet hospital???

Thank you for your feedback.

Sorry you were disappointed with the triage you received in maternity.

It's usually best to attend the maternity unit that has already seen you as they will know your pregnancy history.

I am the head of midwifery g.slevin@nhs.net and will be sharing your comments with the maternity teams.
