Having been referred to the Epsom/St Helier Urology team by my GP, I was first seen in September by Mr Jones at St Helier.
He referred me for an MRI scan of my prostate, a bone scan, a prostate biopsy and a colonoscopy.
All of these procedures took place very quickly and although the bone scan and colonoscopy revealed nothing sinister, unfortunately I was diagnosed with T3 prostate cancer.
Since then I have been seen at the Butterfly Unit by members of the Marsden surgical team and from the Marsden radiotherapy team.
I was referred for robotic removal at the Marsden in Chelsea and that will happen on 8th December.
The treatment I have had is first class.
I wouldn’t imagine that private health care would have been any better.
From the greeters at the hospital entrance to the doctors, consultants and nurses, I have received support, advice, comfort, empathy and the most professional service anyone could possibly expect.
The NHS gets a lot of stick in the media but I am going to be singing its praises to everyone I can.
I can’t thank the people with whom I have come into contact enough.
"As good as private"
