"Better than a spa resort !"
Upon arrival you feel instantly at ease within the beautiful surroundings , elegant and calming interior . A welcoming friendly greeting from the patient liaison - who showed me into my room , showed me where various buzzers buttons etc were located , and put me at ease immediately . I was then admitted by a very bubbly and enthusiastic HcA and. Nurse who again reassured me and made the experience all the more relaxing and calming .
You can tell the team all enjoy each other's company and work hard together to make your stay the best it can be - I came away feeling a person not just a number as I have done at other hospitals
The anaesthetist - what a wonderful person! They made me whatever cocktail I prefer on a Friday night to send me off to a gentle sleep , their humour and that of those theatre staff were so lovely that I even began to relax ! The recovery team were very reassuring answering every question I mumbled to them and generally kept me chatting whilst I waited to go back to the ward
The ward sister was so caring and kept popping in to do obs and checking on pain levels - again nothing was too much trouble
Lastly but most least the consultant what a lovely person that just happens to be a surgeon too - they communicated as one person to another not a doctor to a patient which I find is a rareity these days
Overall for me the team turned a negative ( in my head) experience into a positive one
IWhat a fantastic resort ;) - it felt like a spa !
