I attended A&E during the early hours of 23/01/16 due to pain and complications of surgery I had done the day before in another local hospital. The staff on duty although visibly busy were all kind, caring and considerate to myself and my partner.
We were kept comfortable, updates and offered refreshments during our wait which was lovely - we could see there was several emergency patients being rushed in and of course we did not mind the wait as they are always priority.
Yes people may be waiting for beds in the hospital but staff prioritise the needs of all patients in the department and not just those we constantly complain - surely this should be credited to them.
Patients should be thankful they are being cared for and offered admission however long this may take - surely the time waiting doesn't matter if it is for your health?
Thank you to all of the team and the lovely sister on charge that early morning. She was extremely busy yet kept us updated and involved in all decisions along with the medical team. I am very grateful.
"Excellent thank you"
