"New Year waste of time"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus

(as the patient),

I had a letter confirming my appointment for a date in very early January at 9:00 and although a Sunday I checked the appointment was right so there I was at 8:45am having chanced the snow and ice and still nursing a bit of a hang over from New Year celebrations and guess what - the clinic wasn't even open!

At 9:15 I ventured upsatirs to a ward to try and track down somebody.

I eventually found a consultant who, upon reading my letter, tried to hold back a laugh while suggesting that the clinic working on a Sunday was pretty slim at the best of times, never mind so close after Christmas and New Year.

Thanks - 2 hours of my life I will never see again...

Thanks for your feedback and I am very sorry that you had this experience.

We would like to look into what went wrong but need to know if you are registered with a practice within Principia (Rushcliffe) as that is the area we cover.

If you can email me - jane.upton@nottspct.nhs.uk - with further details, such as your name and date of birth or NHS number, we can look into what went wrong and hopefully prevent it happening again.

Best wishes
