"Total hip replacement in Dec 2015"

I actually can't find anything bad to say. I was under the care of a surgeon at duchy (under choose and book). This doctor is brilliant and was excellent from my first appointment - I hadn't previously had a good explaination of what was wrong with my hip and the doctor spent time explaining what was wrong and what the options were. We chose to go for hip injections to delay replacement for a while due to my age (45) and this had some positive result on my pain levels but eventually it was not enough and it was agreed to go for replacement. The doctor was again excellent at explaining what they were going to do and why. The pre op processes were straight forward and easy and the physio appointment was re-assuring and the equipment I needed was well assessed and delivered plenty of time for me to prepare my home for discharge.

On the day of my op the staff, nurses , aenethestist and the doctor were reassuring and caring in the prep for my op. The op went well and the doctor came to see me in recovery to let me know all had gone well.

The care post op was equally impressive as was the food . Great care was taken to ensure my pain was controlled and the nurses were supportive (if a little busy bless them them). The physios were amazing at understanding how to get me going again and supporting me to get ny confidence to a point where I was ready to go home.

My recovery has gone really well and I'm now 6+weeks - my new hip is fabulous and I can already feel the benefit of it.
