"Wonderful care after a fall"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust / Emergency ambulance

(as the patient),

I had a very bad fall last sunday at 7. 30am. Blacked out and crashed my head on the kitchen floor which is concrete base covered in Ceramic tiles. My husband who is disabled and had the living room Door shut heard the bang and came in to see what had happened.

He phoned for my eldest daughter who only lives 1o minutes away

And she phoned for the ambulance. The paramedics (pete *& kathy)

Were wonderful and put me at ease straight away ( i am 80 years of age)

I had a ct scan on my head and neck as i had a lump as big as a golf ball but it was clear i then had a bcg which found a slight problem.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at a & e and could not have been treated any better if i had been a private patient

Dear floreence,

Thank you for you feedback about your experience in our emergency department. I know our staff aim to deliver the highest standard of care they can and it is always good for them to hear when a patient feels that they have achieved that goal.

I hope you are now well on the way to recovering from your fall.

With best wishes

Dear Floreence

Thank you so much for taking the time to feed back your comments about the NHS, and in particular the ambulance crew, Pete and Kathy, who attended you after your recent fall. It must have been quite frightening for you, and an anxious time for your husband and daughter too, and I’m so pleased the crew managed to put you at your ease. Please be assured that we will pass on your kind comments to them, which I know they will appreciate, and I’m sure they will be pleased to know that your CT scan was clear.

Thank you again, and sending you our very best wishes for a good recovery.

Yours sincerely, Louise Hutchinson
