Rang to speak to CNS. This was suggested by Macmillan nurse.
Was told they weren't available as they were in clinic but would ring back in the afternoon.
Guess what, they didn't.
Person who answered the phone told me to ring GP.
What good will that do when already a patient of the consultant and patient is in pain where cancer is found and could have spread? How can GP help? Can GP order x-rays or CT scans which would only need referring to consultant.
Four week wait for GP appointment, so who knows how far cancer has spread in that time?
Will try again to ring and speak to CNS.
There used to be a message that said if the nurses don't ring back that day for patient to ring again, this has been removed.
Was told a new nurse had been appointed and they were really good.
Haven't seen any evidence of this as told by the Macmillan nurse based on yesterday.
No change from a year ago when no calls were returned and CNS is supposed to be point of contact.
