My father in law of 90 yrs and in late stage Alzheimer's was admitted to the A&E department around midnight on the 15th December quite gravely ill.
The care and treatment he received was exceptional and second to none, the staff-especially the Doctor- treated him with absolute professionalism, respect and dignity, but saying that I do not want to reduce the impact the paramedics and nurses had, they did exactly the same.
Their interaction with us as relatives was caring and informative and we came away with nothing but total respect for all we had contact with.
Thank you for caring for him that night and bringing him back form the brink even though there was no long term positive prognosis you got him through what was a traumatic time for him and enabled him to recover to a point where he can ultimately pass peacefully.
We hear so many times in ours gutter press about hospitals and staff not caring, this is not what we experienced, I cannot imagine how they could have done anything any better, so a big thank you to all in Blackburn A&E, you are a credit not only to the NHS but to the medical profession in general and I have nothing but praise and admiration for the work you do often under difficult circuntances,
"A&E staff were exceptional"
