This is a tough one....whilst I thought that that the care and surgery that my wife received yesterday was amazing and the best possible, I just can not accept the fact that it took 5 hours to be discharged, after she was told that she could go home.
Waiting from 7.00pm until 10 minutes past midnight in a ward with a wailing old lady signing hymns (badly) non-stop, who should have been transferred to a separate sound-proofed room. Then having the ward lights turned off and left in darkness with false promises and conflicting information. Left for 5 hours with no drinks (apart from a jug of water) and no food for over five hours.
No-one should be put through this after any type of surgery, ever. No-one!!
"No-one"
