"Outstanding Experience with ENT - changes our..."

About: Leeds General Infirmary

My 11 month old son had suffered 10 ear infections in 5 months, history was repeating itself from my eldest child so this time I confidently requested a GP referral, upon refusal I went privately to see the consultant, they diagnosed a few ear issues and recommended Grommets. With this evidence the GP put me back on an NHS pathway (they wouldn't operate on an under 3 privately) After an appointment at ENT we were booked in for the Operation with another conultant along with a wonderful team (nurses, anaesthetist, theatre team and wonderful medical secretaries) they have totally transformed our son and therefore our families life, thank you! We are only 5 weeks in but he no longer screams all night long from endless ear infections, he is a reformed child, it is incredible! All due to a very simple operation! We eventually have our family life, no one can ever thank you enough or know what this means. GP's (Cleckheaton area) need educating so other less unknowledgeable families don't suffer this absolute hell, my eldest son no doubt would have benefitted after 16 infections and endless anti-biotics. Leeds ENT keep up the amazing work, thank you! (My only suggestion is that one receptionist on ENT needs a word, was very rude and unhelpful on both our visits in Nov & Dec)

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for taking the time to post regarding your experience with our ENT department.

I am very pleased to read that we were able to help your son, and that you were happy with the care that he receieved,

I have passed your post onto the Matron for our ENT department and asked that she shares your post with her team, I have also asked that she re-ierate to staff the importance of being friendly and welcoming to all patients, their friends and family.

With kind regards
Rosie
