Following emergency surgery in July 2015, I had to attend the Oncology department (Consultant and Day Case Unit) on a fortnightly basis for chemotherapy. This was a scary, worrying time for me and I can honestly say, that every member of staff I had any dealings with treated me with compassion, sympathy and respect, explaining everything fully and with the utmost kindness and professionalism. I can't praise the Consultant and staff there enough and thank them from the bottom of my heart for the way they helped me and supported me through a difficult few months. I have stopped the chemotherapy now and have still got a way to go to recovery, but wanted to publish this review, as one hears negative feedback about NHS staff all the time and I wanted to demonstrate that this was certainly not the case in my experience - they were all brilliant!
