"First class care, but long wait and cafe closed on weekends"

About: Westmorland General Hospital / Langdale Unit

(as a relative),

I was disappointed to see the cafe closed on a Saturday and Sunday.

My mother was referred to the PA Dept by the doctor and she had to wait 4 hours before she was admitted to the Langdale unit.

She is 89 years old.

I think the Langdale unit gave first class care and we noticed the cleaning of the beds was also first class.

Thank you for your posting. I am grateful to you for taking the time to feed back your experience.

I am sorry that your Mother had to wait for so long before going to the Langdale Unit. We do generally have a very good record of keeping delays to a minimum and I regret that on this occasion your Mother had to endure an excessive wait.

I take your point about the cafe being closed during the weekend. The cafe does provide a machine service where food and drinks can be acquired, however, I accept that a full service would be preferrable.

I was delighted to read that your Mother recieved first class care whilst on the Langdale Unit and pleased that you felt our approach to cleaning the beds was also first class. I will take great pleasure in feeding back your kind comments to the whole team.

Thank you again.

Best wishes to you and your Mother.

Regards,

Graeme
