"I couldn't have expected a better service"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Colorectal surgery

(as the patient),

I received an appointment for sigmoidoscopy only a week after I first went to my GP complaining of change in bowel habits and blood in stool. On the day of the test (which was yesterday), the nurses Theresa, Natalie and Sarah took very good care of me, and Mr Raju performed the sigmoidoscopy quite skillfully. They all offered useful explanation every step of the way. Everything went smoothly and in timely fashion. I couldn't have expected a better service.

My wife had a colonoscopy done in the same department a few months ago. She too was full of praises for the team after the test.

We are proud of our local hospital!

Response from Marie Helebert, Patient Services Officer, Patient Services, Heart of England Foundation Trust

Dear fast567

Thank you so much for your comments regarding your recent attendance at Good Hope Hospital for a sigmoidoscopy in our Endoscopy Suite.

I am so pleased to read that you were seen speedily following referral from your GP, and that on the day of your attendance you felt the nursing staff took good care of you and that Mr Raju carried out the examination providing a full explanation of everything he was doing throughout.

I will be delighted to ensure that your feedback is highlighted to Senior Sister Lolita Tallon, Ward Manager for Endoscopy, Matron Beverley Baker and to Mr Raju who will be thrilled to read your feedback and ensure that it is communicated to all of the team who work very hard to provide a positive patient experience.

I hope this is acceptable and thank you once again for providing your lovely comments, patient experience is very important to us.

Best Wishes

Marie Helebert
