About: New Victoria Hospital / Out-of-hours GP service

(as a carer),

I would just like to thank the staff at the out of hours service. I had to attend with my grandfather who was unwell and extremely confused. The nurse we seen was exceptional and realised even though he was orientated to time and date that there was something underlying. We were seen after this promptly by a Doctor who also realised my concerns. My Grandfather is now recovering well in the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. Thank you again for the excellent work that you do.

I work in a small team in NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde which seeks to involve patients and carers in the work of the NHS. The biggest part of my role is in managing feedback projects across the Board area, one of which is Patient Opinion. It is my job to give our patients and carers the opportunity to give us feedback, and to make sure that this is passed to the right people to help us improve the services we provide.

Dear CSpeirs,

Thank you so much for taking the time to let us know about the care your grandfather received at the Victoria Out of Hours service. Your comments have highlighted a couple of important points - one about the insightful nurse who didn't simply take things on face value, and secondly that your views and concerns were taken into account. This is so important as our patients' loved ones are of course the ones who know them best, and therefore can recognise when they seem out of character.

I will pass your kind comments on to the team at the Out of Hours Service, and I hope that your grandfather is doing well now.
