I would like to pass on heartfelt thanks on behalf of our family for the excellent care offered to my mum before she passed away in Ward 54, Victoria Hospital.

The nursing staff offered every opportunity to be with our mum in her final days, they made sure she remained comfortable and she was treated with dignity throughout her short stay. The medical staff also took time to clearly explain her deterioration and what to expect in the coming days.

Thank you for helping us through our most difficult time, the kindness and professionalism of staff at all levels are a credit to NHS Fife.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I was sorry to hear of the loss of your mum and offer my sincere condolences. Losing a loved one is very difficult for families and it is so important that staff do all they can to make it an experience that leaves people feeling comforted. What you describe in terms of staff giving you the opportunity to be with your mum and making sure she was comfortable is exactly what we hope to achieve in delivering excellent care. It sounds like the medical staff also recognised the importnace of clear communincation which can in a situation like this help prepare families for what is ahead.

I hope the kindness of the staff involved will continue to bring comfort to you and your family at this time and thank you once again for taking the time to write. I will be delighted to make sure your feedback is shared with teh staff in Ward 54 and also with the Management team responsible. This helps re inforce the good work of staff.
