After being in pain for some time i visited to have my ear looked at. I waited for a long time to be seen which was ok but was only told what the problem was.
I then left still in pain with advise to put oil in my ear for 10 days. This meant another 10 days of pain and there was added to this a long waiting time to get my local GP appointment to clean them and relieve the pain. Being in real pain I was feeling very low and a bit desperate.
I called a local private ear clinic: I was told that i did not need to put oil in my ears at all and they would see me immediately. The surroundings were very nice and the doctor was extremely polite and knowledgable. They cleaned both my ears in literally 2 minutes and I watched the whole thing on a screen as they talked their way through the sucking out of all the build up, my pain was gone, it was amazing, painless, efficient but did cost £95. Well worth it compared with 10 days of pain and suffering which was my alternative.
Why did the nurse I saw not tell me about this option? I would have suffered terribly if I was not of the mind to not accept that as the only option.
