About: Sunderland Royal Hospital

I have recently had a large toe joint replacement When I arrived at reception, Entrance 9, the member of staff on reception looked as though they were uninterested in their work which wasn't a good start.

From there onwards, the staff were excellent and could not do enough for you.

After the operation, I was hungry and offered a sandwich which had mayonnaise and I don't like that, so i was offered biscuits.

Maybe there could have been something else to eat.

When I left hospital, there was no pain killers offered, as said on one of the forms, so it was just as well I had some at home.

After a week, I had to see my GP as I was still in pain and I was told that I had refused pain killers when I was at the Sunderland Royal.

I was shocked to say the least because

I would have wanted to have some.

This is something I will chase up.

I see on the website that it is 16 weeks average from seeing your GP to having the operation.

I must have pushed the average up because it was 29 weeks for me.

I saw my GP in May and had my operation in November.

I have a letter which says that I will have an appointment with the dressing clinic for 3 weeks time.

My appointment is for 4 weeks time, just before Christmas.

I hope everything is okay for the festive season.
