"poor patient care"

About: Bristol Eye Hospital

First I would like to say how amazing the surgeon and their team are and also the theatre team I am forever in their debt for saving my eyesight and the on going care I am receiving from them!!]

I have 2 other issues which I feel I need to raise: * the staff on Glocester ward

I have had to stay on this ward twice in the last 4 months and I must admit both times have been absolutely horrid. on my first visit which was an emergency admission I witnessed a "nurse" shout at a little old lady opposite me because her table was a mess, this poor woman had been up all night due to constant pain and the mess had been left by the doctors who visited her during the night, then said "nurse" made their way to my bed and again with the same attitude started to move my personal belongings and generally be quite aggressive in their tone they said to me had I thought about getting up, ( this was @6am) to which I must admit I told them in no uncertain terms to leave my things alone and that I had not had a sleep due to the poor lady opposite and that I was positioning as requested by the surgeon, they then stayed away from me and I did not see them again.

on my second visit to this lovely ward well where do I start, rude staff, letting male visitors stay in a female ward until 12.30am and they wernt quite visitors, I felt quite vulnerable trying to rest after my op with 3 males in the bay so I closed my curtains only to be shouted at for closing them I explained the situation that I felt uncomforatable and exposed trying to sleep so they walked off talking about me to other patients and staff, not once after coming up from surgery for over 15 hours did any nurse ask me if I was ok if I needed any meds...nothing! another patient in the bay kept her radio on un til 3am in the morning not one member of staff asked her to switch off the radio or offer her headphones, so little rest all night. in the morning I was seen by the surgeon at @ 8am and was told I could be discharged, still waiting for prescription at 11.10 am and in the meantime I was chucked out of the bed and told not to sit on it as they had made the bed for the next patient. what if I began feeling unwell? talk about being made to feel uncomfortable and in regards to my prescription I chased this up myself as staff more interested in going out for a cigarette! when I was finally given my meds I was not given everything in the bag and when I questioned this I was blankly told that I didn't need them and they popped the box of whatever in their pocket

I hope I never have to stay in this ward again and I am very unhappy about the care/service received.

Clinic appts this needs to be sorted it is a shambles waiting hours being moved from one room to another people putting notes staright on top of piles of notes others being placed at bottom of files people moaning and their file being placed at the top! when seeing a nurse being asked how my pressure was? no space left to continue!
