At the start of October I was invited to a bowel screening session. A tumour was found and this was quickly identified as cancer.
From the point of the tumour being found I received fantastic care and support. Tests were carried out quickly and an operation scheduled. My surgeon gave me fantastic reassurance, and performed a successful operation. Their support after the operation was superb, and I received outstanding care from the Surgical High Care unit. While in hospital I received great support from the Stoma Care team and this has continued since my discharge.
Overall the care I have received since the tumour was found has been of the highest standard. I could not have asked for anything more, and at a very stressful time I was given fast, high quality care with compassion and support throughout.
