"Well done Langdale Unit "

My mother was admitted to Langdale unit 2 weeks after having been discharged from RLI, She lives on her own, 88 years old,

the criteria for discharge from the RLI was she could walk to the toilet unaided.She was ill when she was discharged from there, and did not recover until admitted to the above unit. I was expected to care for her, and I did 24 hours a day as no other care packaged was in place.

The nurses and the ancillary staff at the Langdale Unit are superb. I may pick out the Staff Nurse, she was excellent, just how a nurse should be, the tea ladies, were very understanding and excellent. From my perspective as a relative and a carer I have only praise for this unit, it is a model which should be copied throughout the NHS. I know there are shortages of funds,but a little care and a smile go a long way. My mother is not out of the woods yet, but she is being cared for in a wonderful environment, we now have a Social worker, who is going to help me find the right care package, tailored to my mothers needs. Well Done Langdale Unit South, I hope when I am older and as ill as my mother has been I get the care that is the Langdale Unit.
