"A speedy response from my GP"

My 9 year old daughter had been suffering from a cough and cold for around a week when one day she came home from school saying how her chest was hurting. My daughter had previously spent time in hospital with pneumonia so I wanted to get her checked out asap. After phoning my GP practice (Norfolk Park Medical Practice in Sheffield, Sheffield CCG) I was put on a list for a GP to call me. I received the call around 30 minutes later and was asked to attend the practice an hour later.

After our GP saw my daughter she was diagnosed with a chest infection and was given anti-biotics. Due to the history of my daughter the GP wanted to see her the next morning to make sure the anti-biotics were starting to have an effect. The following day we went back to the practice and our GP was pleased to see an improvement.

The service that we received was fantastic and this prompt action I'm sure led to my daughter being treated at home and therefore preventing unnecessary hospital activity.
