I went into labour at home when my waters broke. My husband called maternity but couldn't get through and was advised to call 999 for an ambulance as the baby was coming. The call handler reassured my husband and talked him through what was needed should the baby come before the paramedics arrived. Without this assistance we would have been lost. The paramedics arrived soon after just as baby's head was born. They helped to deliver the baby's body. Both paramedics were great and reassured us both. Our baby was healthy and there was no problems. They got us to hospital as soon as possible. We would like to thank everyone - call handler and paramedics for their help and reassurance on that night.
