I was taken by ambulance to East Surrey into a/e. The team that saw me immediately were wonderful. My first time ever time in hospital as a patient. I had breathing difficulties and felt dreadful. The staff were kind, efficient and acted very quickly. Canula put in place, painless. Blood taken, painless. X ray done, all in A/E.
2 hours later, I was on the AMU and once again treated with kindness, respect and reassurance. Everyone from the nurses, doctors and the catering staff were amazing.
2 nights on that unit, then on to Tilgate Ward, once again, met by an amazing team of Angels, settled me in very quickly. I can't praise these nurses enough. They are truly the best.
Most of the other people on the ward were very eldery and had serious respiritory problems, but these nurses showed them such kindness, patience and were so professional, and this was constant, whichever shift came on, all of the staff where the same, this includes the catering staff and the people who constantly cleaned the wards, toilets corridors etc. Everywhere was spotless. All I can say is a huge thank you to you all. I was diagnosed with pneumonia, it was very scary but the staff all made me feel safe and reassured x
