Arrived in good time for appointment.
Clinic did not start for 20 minutes - no reason given, no apology either.
Treatment unit not in use, treated in bay full of stuff in boxes, not exactly a clean area.
Nurse did not have notes, did not have a clue why patient was there, so had to go through whole story of diagnosis, treatment, outpatient appointments, inpatient stays, lack of support.
The nurse was horrified at lack of visits/contacts by cancer nurse specialists, district nurses, and as for no oncologist appointments or suitable treatment such as radiotherapy or chemotherapy!
No information leaflet sent with appointment letter so patient had no idea of how long appointment would take - over five hours, so huge car park fees incurred.
Patient could have sat on hard chairs in not much more than walk in cupboard, not suitable for health, all this had been explained to staff over phone last week, but obviously that person could not be bothered to make note and pass on to nurse who was doing procedure, so had to explain it all again.
Catheter guidelines state instillagel should be allowed to work and a small interlude between administering it before catheterising patient.
Yet again, this did not happen.
No leaflet available to take away from unit after first part of treatment to help patient understand what was happening.
Had to ask for curtains to be closed to prevent semi-naked patient being seen by people in next block.
Several patients notes clearly visible, just left on desk and trolley - what happened to patient confidentiality? Could see names, addresses, date of birth, dates of hospital visits, not good.
"Really poor experience"
