My son was born at 23+5 weeks gestation. He was born in Preston Royal and then moved to Oldham and then on to Wythenshawe before we took him home.
The neonatal unit was simply amazing. The staff are very dedicated and caring to all the baby's and this really does come across to the parents and helps us feel more at ease in a very difficult time.
My sons consultant, consulted us during every major decision and made sure we understood what was happening.
The nurses on the unit became like family. We were always made to feel welcome even if we visited very early in the morning.
After being on new natal units at other hospital that we're all very good, this one shone out at being the best.
Since my son came home in Feb 2015, he has stayed under the same doctor even tho we are not in the hospitals catchment area. Every question we have had regarding his medication he has gotten back to us and he listens to our opinions before medication is adjusted.
This hospital has had a bad rap but I whole heartedly believe that if it wasn't for Wythenshawe and this doctor we would not have brought our son home and for that you have our eternal thanks
"Simply brilliant"
