On July 19th 2015, I was admitted to Damson Ward of Barnet Hospital because I had a pressure ulcer that had become infected with necrotizing fasciitis.
I had three operations and ended up staying for six weeks! There were some night-time agency staff who were not very good (e.g. rude and uncaring towards patients) but generally I have nothing but praise for the consultants, nurses and domestic staff. They were caring, helpful and friendly, and that makes a real difference when you are unwell. I must single out one nurse for particular praise - they took me under their wing, spoiled me rotten, and generally made my long stay much nicer than it might otherwise have been.
"Six weeks in Damson Ward!"
