"Lack of technical knowledge and expertise"

About: Harrogate District Hospital

I visited HDH several weeks ago being referred by my doctor due to severe pain in both my hips especially the left one. I had an X-ray and waited 10 days for results, when they had examined the photos of my hips they sent the report back to my doctor stating that my hips were in perfect condition. I could not believe that all this pain was a result of anything else but my hips, my doctor was confused as was I at these results. My doctor said well it must be your ligaments, I said it can't be , I rang Harrogate H and spoke to the radiography dept, the person I spoke to and explained my situation said " well are you telling me that the doctor who checked the photos is wrong" . They indicated that the doctor was very experienced and is unlikely to get it wrong. There was nothing I could really say at that point so I decided to pay privately for an X-ray and examination which I had done at the Spire Hospotal Roundhay. I rang them on the day I received the results from HDH and I got an appointment the next day at 19:10 hrs, which I attended. Within 40 minutes I had an examination and X-Ray. The consultant and I both looked at the X-ray and they said there is no question that i need a new left hip straight away and a right hip within 18monrhs . They showed me the malformed bone and I could clearly see the growths of bone which were restricting my movement and the lack of gap between the hip and the pelvis where bone was touching bone. If I had left this and took their word for it what further damage could have been done to my pelvis or any other injury because of a fall due to the fact that my leg keeps giving way. I am starting to get very bad feedback about HH my daughter is only 23 and she has to have an operation and her friends are telling her not to have it at Harrogate. What is going on at HH why are the standards slipping so drastically.
