About: University Hospital Of North Tees

(as the patient),

What I liked

The consultant had always read my notes and new the situation before coming into the room which saved me having to continually repeat. I was able to say the treatment that I wanted and when I wanted and the consultant did everything possible to make it happen. Have to go in for surgery in 3 weeks so was sent to the pre-assessment centre. This service was excellent, was given the opportunity to ask any questions and was given lots of time to go through everything in detail. As it's school holidays I had to take my children and the staff where lovely to them and kept them entertained for me while having some tests done. Truly excellent service.

What could be improved

Shorter wait time in Gyne department

Anything else?

Although I live in Stockton I have to have my surgery at Hartlepool, feel a little nervous about that as I have no experience of Hartlepool. Would have preferred to have continuity of care at Stockton.

Thank you for your feedback about the experience you had using our services recently. We will pass your very kind comments on to the departments concerned.

Our services are now designed so you can have most of your pre-operative and after care at the hospital close to where you live. This means you only have to travel to the University Hospital of Hartlepool for your operation. Please be assured our teams work together to ensure you have continuity of care.

Thank you for taking the trouble to leave your comments on NHS Choices
