Grandad suffered from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and was admitted to Gundulf ward Saturday 19th September. Our grandad had previously been treated with specialist cancer treatment. Both wards treated our Grandad with dignitiy and respect, and in the last few days of his life sent on Gundulph ward, our family was welcomed by all the permanent ward staff and made to feel as comfortable as possible to spend our last few days with him. We were fully informed as to what was happening at each step, and this gave us great comfort. The staff were always on hand if we needed a blanket or a cup of tea, we cannot fault them at all. If this hospital was given some actual substantial money to decorate and update its equipment and facilities then it would be amazing, as the permanent staff who work there are incredible.
