Very poor! Most of the staff seem to just "tread water" till the end of shift.
Everything you need doing is constantly put on the back burner and left for next shift. The night shift seems to consist of "nurses" from distant backwaters who hardly speak English and tell bare faced lies about tasks they were supposed to have performed so they don't get into trouble! Meanwhile patients are left in agony because the nurse has ticked off that they have had their pain relief when they clearly have not! A very dear friend of mine was left with a line in her arm which should have been flushed every 12 hours to keep it open. Guess how long it was left before flushing? 4 days! Inevitably the line blocked and created a serious problem for my friend and the surgeon who was due to perform a major operation the day after. Why can't these people just do their jobs? Our Consultants must despair at having to send post op patients back onto wards like this. Their work is amongst the best in the world and they CARE, many of the nursing staff should look that word up in the dictionary! Staff are taking mobility challenged patients to toilets on commode chairs that are still soiled from previous users, no wonder people end up with serious and life threatening infections. Those same patients are then left sat over the toilet till someone remembers that they are there. What is worse is the strings on the wards are pulled by people sat in offices being paid too much money to think of ridiculous ways to "justify" the salaries they receive. For goodness sake don't get ill!
