"Needs better admin but medical team were great"

About: Grantham & District Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Everyone was lovely, kind beyond what I might have expected. So thank you one and all.

The admin/communication between staff was somewhat lacking however: I wasn’t expecting to be admitted as an in-patient, and the ward wasn’t expecting me as an in-patient either for a pre-procedure briefing,

The pre-colonoscopy leaflet could have been a bit more detailed regarding the effects of the laxatives. E. g. make It clear that pads are available, for the uninitiated it came as a shock

Back to the staff: you were “epic” as the advert says

Response from United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust We are preparing to make a change

Dear Fantasm245,

Thank you for your feedback, we welcome any comments that will improve our service.

In-patient stays are arranged by the referring consultant's secretaries, who liaise with the ward, Endoscopy just provide the available appointment date but our apologies that this lack of communication occurred.

We are presently updating our leaflets and we will include your suggestion of having pads available.

Best regards,

Nikki Woodcock - Head of Endoscopy, Screening & Physiological Sciences
