"Fantastic hospital: small but beautiful"

About: Friarage Hospital Site

Has a 'cottage hospital' feel. Somehow, this puts anxious patients at ease and calms them which must make treating them a bit easier.

It's fantastic to see the same range of nurses/doctors/auxiallary staff throughout the period of a stay: great for the patient as it overcomes trust issues and provides continuous care. The nursing staff are brilliant and have to put up with a lot!!

Would be great to have better access to the doctors, or at least see the same one occasionally so you don't have to keep repeating yourself but appreciate the logistical difficulty of this.

The food is amazing; so good to actually be able to look forward to eating hospital food!!! A great choice and variety too.

We welcome nominations for the Trust’s annual ‘Nightingale Awards’ which, once a year, recognise the important contribution nursing and midwifery make to patients and their families at The James Cook University Hospital or the Friarage Hospital on a day-to-day basis.
