What I liked
friendly nurses but not very efficent
What could be improved
My Mum was a breast surgery patient in ward c1 she has cancer and had to have a mascetomy ,at the pre -op appt we were asked if Mum had any allergies we informed the staff plasters and dressings .
Mum was operated on on Friday and woke up covered in dressings and plasters to which she was already reacting ,My sister visted and asked for their removal this took 3 hours whilst Mum skin was reacting the staff had no hyperallergenic dressings so they cut up disposable Knickers and bound them round my Mums chest my sister went and bought hypoallergenic dressings they still sit on my Mums bedside Mums wound is not dressed at all ,The drains in her chest and wound have now fallen out though we were told they had to stay in ,I have flagged this up 3 times now to no avail and today to add insult to injury the doctors did their rounds and ignored her my mum has not seen a doctor since friday at her operation .
I am making an official complaint to the trust as soon as she is discharged and will ask them if it was their Mum how would they feel about her wounds being dressed with Knickers ????
