"They wished me a lovely send off"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Medical Oncology (Ward 16)

(as the patient),

I was recently diagnosed with Myeloma Cancer and admitted to Monklands Hospital for treatment. I am 80 yrs old and the staff at the hospital took very good care of me and I felt they were always attending to my wellbeing and nothing was a problem for them. I spend 2 months in the hospital and I got to know the staff well and vice versa which meant they were able to treat my needs well. I was delighted that upon my departure they all gathered to wish me a lovely send off with a bunch of flowers. Thank you so much for all your care. Xxx

Dear Simbersc

Thank you for taking the time to post your experience within the Medical Oncology ward at Monklands Hospital. I'm sure your recent diagnosis and very long stay in hospital must have been an anxious time for you.

I'm pleased to learn your relationship with the staff was so positive. The multi-disciplinary team work very hard to ensure patients needs and wishes are recognised and delivered and I'm sure they will be delighted to read your Patient Opinion.

I hope you are enjoying being home and I wish you well.

Kindest regards

Ruth
