My Mom was in the Eliza Tinsley ward for a week before transferring to a permanent nursing home.
My first contact with nursing staff left me feeling concerned.
They made little to any conversation with my mom aged 96.
I was advising them of mom's capabilities or lack of them, whereby they seemed to ignore what I said and carried on assessing her with little regard for mom's incapabilities.
She was left in bed most of day as they admitted not having enough staff to help her get dressed and washed.
She wasn't encouraged to go into the recreational area, and was left alone in her room.
Each time I went to ask someone about mom's medical care, I was told every time that they wasn't looking after mom and didn't know anything.
I never actually get to speak to anyone who was taking care of her directly.
Underneath her bed was broken biscuit from the day before, and this was the evening time.
Her leg was weeping water onto the floor and this was just left.
One nurse actually said they thought it was mom having a toilet accident!
The TV in her room, the remote went missing and no one could find it.
Overall I wouldn't want any friend or relative going there.
"Extremely disappointed"
