After speaking to a 111 number, I went to A&E with a head injury I've been having extreme trouble with. Turned up feeling dizzy and sick with very blurry vision. The receptionist didn't so much as look up at me, interrupted me whenever I tried to speak and simply flung a card at me and told me to go wait my turn. I find it extremely worrying that this is the kind of service Whipps expects people who could have a life or death emergency to turn up to.
I then waited 3 hours to be assessed, however, I understand hospitals cannot control how busy their A&E will be, they can, however, control their greetings to a woman who waited 3 hours feeling dizzy and confused to be seen. After waiting for 3 hours, to then be greeted by a nurse whose first intro was "Name? Age?" without so much as looking at me was shocking. I was then told to give my arm for a blood test and stick out my tongue for a temperature check before being told to wait outside again without any type of information about where I was to go next.
I left there extremely upset and very distressed and it is so concerning how many bad reviews this hospital has had yet nothing has been done.
I will never visit again and would advise anyone else to go to a different hospital.
