I had my initial consultation on May 28th. 2015. After confirmation of my original diagnosis,I was telephoned later that afternoon with a date for my operation ... the 26th. June; four weeks later !! Whilst being very grateful for an appointment four weeks later and not four months, which I thought a possibility, I said to the appointment co-ordinator that if there was a cancellation I would be grateful to be offered the space; I had a busy time at work coming up in August and, bearing in mind the recovery period, it would help me enormously to get it done a.s.a.p.

Five days later I had a call asking me if I could be at the hospital at 07.30 the following day ... June 3rd. I walked into the theatre at 08.30, woke up in the recovery area at 09.30 and was back home soon after mid-day.

I can't thank the consultant and the wonderful nursing staff for their care and attention. The nurse who was with me throughout my, albeit brief, recovery even telephoned the next day to check that I was o.k. and had no concerns.

My busy period at work is now over and and I have fully recovered from the operation; bearing in mind I am involved in a farming related and quite physical occupation, to be back in 'full working order' so quickly after the initial diagnosis is amazing !

Thank you again to all the staff ....... this all due to a very efficient N. H. S.; I can't imagine where we would be without it.
