"Communication training"

About: General practices in Ayrshire & Arran

(as the patient),

Second time I have had to deal with rude and condescending members of staff at this practice. Some training in communication would be welcomed here.

I respond initially to most of the posts and ensure they are passed to the appropriate team whether they are compliments, observations or grumbles. It is important to make sure all issues are addressed and I try to encourage that to happen for all the posts as required.

Dear Woods1,

I am sorry you have not been treated respectfully at your practice. There are a couple of things you can do if you want to. Firstly, you can raise this with the practice manager or go through the official complaints process for the practice. This may nor seem overly helpful but you may be aware that GPs are 'independent contractors', so this is an area where I can not always help with. I am sure the practice would want to know how you feel though.

Best wishes,

Eunice
