"An exasperated trying to confirm..."

About: Essex County Hospital

My mother has had over 30 Basal Cell Carcinomas over the last 25 years and the latest removed from her leg on 12/7/15.

2 more had appeared in the same area while waiting for the appoitntment but she was told they could not be treated on the same day and she would receive another appointment.

She was given a leaflet saying if she had not been notified of the results in 4 weeks to ring.

To date she's had no results and no further appointment and when she rang the number given, it's a recorded message stating mailbox is full.

The same leaflet stated to ring NHS durect if she has any queries, she rang them and was told to ring a different number which is a recorded message for Colchester dermatology outpatients.

Her message left over a week ago requesting an appointment/callback remains unanswered.

As she's 85 and finds recorded messages difficult, on 24/8/15 I attempted to find out what was going on for her... and to date on 26/8/15 I'm none the wiser.

When I rang the original number, it's still a recorded message saying mailbox is full.

When I rang the different number (community dermatology outpatients) I explained situation and left a message for someone to call me back and i'm still waiting.

I rang the main switchboard, I was transferred to community outpatients who answered after i'd been holding on for 35 minutes.

I was told no further appointment had been made for my mother but she had been referred to the plastic surgery department.

I was given 2 numbers to ring consultants PA's for details.

Both are recorded messages and I left a message on both explaining the situation and requested a call back. Kept ringing all day, eventually someone answered & I was told my mother had not been referred to them.

I rang my mothers GP to see if they could do anything or if she needed to be re-referred and was told there were no appointments for 3 weeks which was changed to 4 days when I explained situation.

I rang Colchesters complaints twice which is a recorded message saying someone would ring me back within 24 hours... 3 days later i'm still waiting!!!

I received a message on 25/8/15 saying to ring back, when I did today they knew nothing about the message or my mother and I was told someone would ring me back.

Where exactly do I go from here??
