"Waiting on surgery"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital

For the last 6 years I have suffered with extreme menstrual pains which have made me miss time off school when I was younger, now I'm having to take time off my new job. I went to accident and emergency over 20 times and they did nothing but give me paracetamol and ibuprofen. One doctors exact words were 'I don't know why you keep coming back. You're wasting our time and it's not an emergency. You just need to take the paracetamol we've provided' (which doesn't work).

Only about 8 months ago they decided to do tests which came back showing I had a large cyst in my ovaries. This is what is causing me to be in pain the majority of the time. They told me this needed to be removed and I'd be put on the waiting list which was about 3/4 months. It has now been 4 months and I haven't even received a date for my surgery let alone actually had it done.

Last month I had a phone assessment to prepare for my surgery and the person on the phone said I had something called Endometriosis. I had never been told this before so made me so angry. They refused to tell me what this was as they were unsure why I hadn't been told and wasn't their place to tell me what exactly it was. This lead me to google what it was, was coming up with facts like 50% of women with endometriosis are infertile, etc.. This obviously made me very upset. I went to the doctors to ask about this and they told me that there was nothing on my notes and records about endometriosis. I was falsely diagnosed with this and I am looking to take this further.

I understand there are a lot worse cases out there but this is something that causes me to be in screaming pain for almost a week every single month since I was 14 and I am now 20. I have lost a job over having time off with this in the past and I need it sorted ASAP. It's making me depressed and making my friends and family feel absolutely helpless. Only 2 weeks ago when I went for an emergency GP appointment, did they give me cocodamol which helped with the pain but made me extremely drowsy which I couldn't even get out of bed with. Have tried to chase my surgery date and no one has got back to me when they said they would 3 times.

I am getting absolutely fed up with this to the point where I'm looking to use my own life savings up to get private surgery instead. Can't believe the amount of stress this hospital has caused me over the years.
