What I liked
The care I got in the recovery room after the operation. The excellent results of the operation.
What could be improved
More care from the nurses, they where a long time answering any bells rang by the patients, maybe not the nurses faults, maybe not enough staff. Ward 8.
I was in the last part of the ward attended to by the nurses whilst giving out the drugs, we where all in absolute agony waiting for them and it made it worse knowing that other people where getting them. I would be tempted not to give all my painkillers to the nurse on admission again so I could take the right dosage and at the right time as my doctor has prescribed.
Another patient in the ward was not a good sleeper and if she thought that anyone was awake, be it 1am, 3am or any time she would talk to them loudly keeping every one else awake, the nurses never once in the time she was in when I was came to tell her to be quiet. My daughter brought me some ear plugs in and when I left the hospital I left them with another very grateful patient.
The male pychotherapist was very rude to me when I could not use the crutches and screamed that I would have to go in a car home. I spoke to him the next day and told him if that had been an option he should have spoken to me about it when I was relaxed not whilst I was very upset and ashamed.
Ifelt that he thought because I was over 60 he could speak to me as though I was an idiot.
