"Rheumatology Occupational Therapy"

About: Lanarkshire Community Services / Occupational Therapy Wishaw General Hospital / Rheumatology

(as the patient),

I was referred to Kim, the specialist OT for Rheumatology at Wishaw General Hospital in Lanarkshire and was very impressed by the practical nature of this service as well as her kind and sympathetic understanding. Kim was able to advise me on aids available to help me cope with arthritis, methods of working to minimise damage or build muscle, as well as provide information for my employers in order to better enable them to understand their input in this and how they can help me to remain in the workplace.

Dear Nancy12345, Thank you for your positive comments about your recent experience of the Rheumatology Occupational Therapy Service at Wishaw General. I am delighted that you found Kim's caring and sympathetic approach helpful, and that you feel that you have benefited from the practical advice she was able to provide. I will ensure that your comments are fed back to Kim. It is important to occupational therapists that we support people to manage the symptoms of their condition, and that we help you to achieve maximum independence with everyday activities, leisure and work. Thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback, as this will help others who may be anxious or concerned about being referred to the service. With best wishes Janice
