About: Honiton Hospital

I was in need of attention recently after having a fall and badly damaging my ankle. Within minutes the nurse took me into a small room and checked the condition of my wound. I was advised to go to A&E in Exeter as there were no X Ray facilities on that day. After treatment in A&E Exeter I needed a follow up, again in Honiton. Waited about 5 minutes and was seen again by the same nurse whom I saw originally. My treatment was good. The nurse was polite friendly and kept me informed at all times during the treatment. A wonderful Service.

Dear Mr Alsop

The comments and responses on the web-site of Patient Opinion are shared with us at Healthwatch.

Thank you for responding through Patient Opinion to what was eventually a good outcome. I hope your ankle continues to improve.

There are current proposals for changing the provisions at community hospitals which, if implemented, would enhance the provision available at Honiton.

More generally we are building a picture of the provision of services in Devon and these comments should help the NHS and other providers develop and improve their services.

If you wish to discuss any health or social care issues with us in confidence, including seeking advice or information about services, please call 0800 520 0640, or email info@healthwatchdevon.co.uk or go on-line to www.healthwatchdevon.co.uk.

Yours sincerely
