"dying with no dignity"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

my mother was admitted with breathing problems which was ongoing for last 12 months, my main concern with her stay in the royal was how she was treated ,i got the feeling because she was old she was left with out any dignity or care.she was 89 years old, very frail and frightened.the family all said we needed to move her to melton hospital. my mother died 24 hours later but the care and dignity provided in the short time she was there was excellent.

Dear Peter, We are really sorry to hear your loss and about the care your mother received at the Royal. This does not reflect the level of care we expect our patients to receive, especially at the end of their life. In order to ensure this information is passed on to the correct team so the service can be improved, could you let us know which ward at the Royal your mother was cared for by emailing Communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk? Thank you for taking the time to post your comment. Kind regards, Communications team, Leicester's Hospitals
