My optician diagnosed a cataract in one of my eyes and referred me to the James Paget . I was somewhat surprised to receive an appointment in a relatively short time. The appointment letter was very clear and informative. I attended for the initial consultation with some trepidation as cataract surgery was something of an unknown to me. The staff in the Windsor suite soon put my fears at rest. They were extremely professional but very friendly and explained the procedure in very clear terms. I got the impression that they would tailor the information to suit the patients knowledge. At the conclusion of my consultation I was again pleasantly surprised to be given an appointment for my operation which was within days of my initial appointment. The information given to me was again very clear and was amplified by the staff. I turned up as requested for my surgery and once again received excellent, friendly and very professional treatment. The procedure was fully explained and any misgivings I had were proved groundless. Each stage of the process was explained by the surgeon as he performed the operation. After my treatment I was given eye drops etc.to use at home prior to my final visit to the Windsor Suite, again I was given all the information in a very clear, concise manner At my final visit I received the same friendly, professional treatment and after some tests was assured my treatment was successful. From my experience I would have no reservations in having any further treatment at the James Paget. I would like to thank and commend the staff of ward 8 and the Windsor Suite.
