"The department is a complete joke"

About: Colchester General Hospital

My wife has been under investigation for about 4 months now and was told from the beginning she was not allowed to drive until the investigation is complete. After one MRI that had taken 6 weeks to arrange (with no feedback) and still waiting for her EEG appointment (which was supposed to have taken 4-6 weeks to book) we are no farther along. After repeatedly trying to contact the department and leaving numerous messages both with answering machines and staff, oblivious to any kind of useful information or urgency, I can't help feeling that we would have been better off seeking help from some kind of back-alley surgeon or veterinary practitioner as we are in a more disheveled state than we were before visiting the hospital.
